{"id":174,"date":"2015-11-16T21:11:19","date_gmt":"2015-11-16T18:11:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.aeflwomen.com\/en\/?p=174"},"modified":"2015-11-16T21:11:19","modified_gmt":"2015-11-16T18:11:19","slug":"rights-of-refugees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aeflwomen.com\/en\/rights-of-refugees","title":{"rendered":"Rights of refugees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Rights of refugees<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In Egypt,<em> refugees<\/em> are <em>exposed<\/em> to humanitarian violations and faced extremely bad conditions<em>.<\/em> In 2012, the former president had given Syrian refugees equal treatment as Egyptians in regards to education and healthcare. Also, the<em> protection of refugees <\/em>is <em>guaranteed under the new constitution<\/em> as article 91 states that &#8220;The State may grant political asylum to any foreigner persecuted for defending the interests of people, human rights, peace or justice\u2026. Also, The Foreign<em> Ministry spokesman <\/em>denies <em>abuses against<\/em> refugees from<em> Syria<\/em><em>.<\/em> He estimates that the numbers of Syrian refugees in Egypt is 300,000 Syrians and are being treated the same way as Egyptians in regards with<em> access to Health and Education Services<\/em>. The spokesman stressed that &#8220;There is no official policy on the forced deportation of our Syrian brothers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>However, the Egyptian authorities have detained hundreds of Syrian refugees with their children and forced them to leave the country, and this violates the\u00a0<em>international<\/em>\u00a0conventions.<\/p>\n<h3>Due to the above,<em> the coalition calls for the<\/em>\u00a0following:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The state shall raise awareness of the security officials on the rights of refugees and facilitate <em>procedures<\/em> for legalizing their stay. It shall also increase <em>refugee awareness<\/em> of the importance of the formation of Refugee community organizations to take care of their rights as<em>residents<\/em><em>.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>The state shall<em>immediately release<\/em>\u00a0all<em> detained refugees who have not<\/em>\u00a0even\u00a0<em>been brought<\/em>\u00a0to\u00a0<em>trial during<\/em>\u00a0or\u00a0<em>after<\/em>\u00a0the revolution.<\/li>\n<li>The state shall provide the refugees with a <em>travel document<\/em> especially <em>those refugees<\/em>who\u00a0<em>have blue<\/em>\u00a0identity\u00a0<em>cards and reside in Egypt for more than three years as<\/em>\u00a0<em>provided<\/em>\u00a0in Article 28 of the <em>1951 refugee Convention ratified by Egypt.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>The Institutions, Ministries and <em>organizations working with refugees should establish<\/em>enhanced\u00a0<em>cooperation<\/em>\u00a0between themselves for improving both care and social services provided to refugees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rights of refugees In Egypt, refugees are exposed to humanitarian violations and faced extremely bad conditions.
