{"id":168,"date":"2015-11-16T21:29:11","date_gmt":"2015-11-16T18:29:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.aeflwomen.com\/en\/?p=168"},"modified":"2015-11-16T21:29:11","modified_gmt":"2015-11-16T18:29:11","slug":"the-right-to-freedom-of-opinion-expression-and-information","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aeflwomen.com\/en\/the-right-to-freedom-of-opinion-expression-and-information","title":{"rendered":"The right to freedom of opinion, expression, and information"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The\u00a0<em>right<\/em>\u00a0to\u00a0<em>freedom<\/em>\u00a0of\u00a0<em>opinion<\/em>,\u00a0<em>expression, and <\/em>information\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>In all Communities,<em> revolutions break out due to unfair practices, muzzling the citizens <\/em>and\u00a0<em>worsening<\/em> living\u00a0<em>conditions.<\/em> Through the Egyptian\u00a0<em>revolution<\/em>\u00a0of 2011, Egyptians <em>emphasiz<\/em>ed their<em> right to freedom of opinion, expression and access to information<\/em>. Since the 25<sup>th<\/sup> January revolution, practices of the Egyptian government proved <em>continuation of<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em><em>violations<\/em>\u00a0to the right of<em>\u00a0<\/em><em>freedom<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em>of<em>\u00a0<\/em><em>expression<\/em><em>.<\/em> This can be seen through <em>smear campaign against opponents,<\/em><em> violation of the sanctity of life<\/em> and trying to hold control over media such as the <em>siege<\/em> of the Egyptian <em>Media Production City <\/em>under<em> the Muslim Brotherhood rule<\/em>.<\/h3>\n<h3>In light of the recent events, the\u00a0<em>coalition calls for the<\/em>\u00a0following:<\/h3>\n<h3>1-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The state shall promote freedom of opinion and expression as secured <em>right<\/em> by laws and regulations that need to be reviewed to <em>comply <\/em>with the <em>provisions<\/em> of the<em> new Constitution<\/em><em>.<\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em>2-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/em>The state shall activate<em> media code of ethics<\/em> that guarantees that the <em>information<\/em> received is fair, <em>accurate<\/em><em>,<\/em> and checked and respects fundamental<em> freedoms<\/em> of <em>individuals <\/em>or <em>groups<\/em>.<\/h3>\n<h3><em>3-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/em><em>The state shall Issue a new legislation for internet crimes.
